Our Leaders
Dave is a healthcare entrepreneur and executive with more than 20 years of experience supporting specialists as they enhance their practices and achieve success in Value Based Care (VBC). Valendo Health is his fourth VBC venture. Dave earned a BA from Columbia University and an MBA from Harvard.
After being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, David left the technology sector to found Cecelia Health, which has improved the health of thousands of people living with diabetes in partnership with payers and providers. David has received numerous awards for his diabetes and entrepreneurial accomplishments.
Bongani has 20 years of experience in healthcare and data analytics, specializing in provider performance and risk management. Previously he led product management at Archway Health and ConvergeHEALTH. He holds a BA in Economics and Computer Science from Macalester College, and an MBA from Babson College.

Robert A. Gabbay, MD, PhD is Chief Scientific and Medical Officer of the American Diabetes Association and Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School. His research focuses on innovative models of diabetes care to improve diabetes outcomes and the lives of people with diabetes.
Throughout his vibrant career he has had many accomplishments as a basic science researcher, developer of patient communication tools, creator of the first broad scale diabetes registry, designer of care management training programs, and leader of one of the largest primary care transformation efforts in the US around the Patient Centered Medical Home.
Dr. Gabbay has received funding from the National Institute of Health Diabetes, Digestive and Kidneys Diseases (NIDDK), the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality(AHRQ), and the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation for his care transformation work.
Claudia Graham is the former Senior Vice President of Global Access at Dexcom, where she navigated the complexities of the US Medicare and healthcare systems, using health economics, outcomes research and coding to define a strategy for reimbursement. She also made significant inroads to improving access for diabetes technologies for patients and physicians domestically and internationally.
During her retirement, she has remained active on various national and local advisory boards serving the medical community. In addition to her nonprofit volunteer work, she remains professionally active in the diabetes community, having published and presented numerous articles at scientific conferences worldwide.
She received her bachelor’s degree and her PhD from the University of Southern California and received her post-doctoral MPH from the University of California, Los Angeles.
As Principal Cofounder of Quintuple Aim Solutions, Dr. Alavi parters with startups to accelerate their journey towards value-based care through GTM strategy, product market fit optimization, risk-based contracting, and commercialization support.
He served as the Chief Clinical Officer of Dispatch Health, and the President of their Advanced Care business unit in 2022. As the national lead for Institutional Affordability at Optum, he was responsible for the strategy, tactics, and implementations of programs that impacted $6 billion of facility-based care.
Dr. Alavi earned MD/MBA degrees from Thomas Jefferson University, competed residency in Internal Medicine at Mt. Auburn Hospital of Harvard Medical School, and a General Internal Medicine fellowship from Johns Hopkins school of Medicine. Dr. Alavi also received an MHS in cardiovascular epidemiology from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
David Bleich, M.D. is Chief of Endocrinology, Diabetes, Metabolism and Professor of Medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School.
For years he conducted basic science research in the field of pancreatic beta cell function and Type 1 diabetes, but has since transitioned to clinical endocrinology and diabetes. He has a robust diabetes endocrine practice in Newark, New Jersey.
He has served as Chairman of national and local diabetes grant review committees, and has held leadership positions in the American Diabetes Association and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology.
Dr. Bleich has published extensively, and is the author of “The Diabetes LIFEMAP: Data-Driven Diabetes Care for the 21st Century”.
Reza Yavari M.D. is a Yale-trained Board-Certified Endocrinologist with over two decades of medical practice focused on diabetes, obesity, and therapeutic lifestyle change. He is the author of several books and many articles and has been active in teaching and lecturing to a variety of audiences nationwide.
He is author and designer of Beyond Weight®, a digital behavior modification application for lifestyle change aimed at diabetes and obesity which won him the prestigious MIT – SOLVE innovation award.
Dr. Yavari is co-founder of several healthcare startups and is active as a Medical Advisor and a Consultant. His understanding of biomedical sciences, his experience in clinical medicine as well as in digital health and machine learning make him uniquely positioned as an innovator in patient-centric data-driven healthcare.
William Biggs is the CEO & Medical Director at Amarillo Legacy Medical ACO, where his passion is helping with difficult endocrine problems, particularly diabetes, diabetes during pregnancy, and thyroid diseases.
Dr. Biggs has had additional training in reading thyroid ultrasound, and thyroid nodule fine needle aspiration, and has been credentialed by the American College of Endocrinology with the Endocrine Certification in Neck Ultrasound (ECNU).
Dr. Biggs speaks at conferences nationwide on population health, and how Amarillo has successfully implemented tools to provide better health at lower cost.

Vijay is a seasoned strategy & finance leader with 15 years of experience across equity research, investment banking, corporate development, and strategic finance. At Redesign Health, he leads the Strategic Finance team responsible for overseeing fundraising and strategic finance initiatives for the platform's portfolio of 60+ early-stage companies.
